Olayinka Sanusi BSc., ACA

HEAD, INVESTMENT BANKING

A consummate investment professional with over 10 years of hands-on experience in the Nigerian capital markets. His major areas of competence include mergers and acquisition, corporate finance and financial advisory. Prior to his current role, he worked with Greenwich Merchant Bank Limited (GMBL) where he led the Financial Advisory arm of the Investment Banking Division. He was also seconded to support the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.

  • He also grew from being an Analyst to Associate at Greenwich Trust Limited, an indigenous and legacy investment banking firm to GMBL, which advised the acquisition of Mainstreet Bank Limited by Skye Bank PLC, structured and packaged the first-ever Local Contract Receivable (LCR) Bond Issuance Programme for the FGN, amongst other notable capital raising transactions.
  • He possesses a strong origination and execution capabilities having participated in notable transactions including the successful divestment of Skye Bank's shareholding in three (3) of its international subsidiaries located in Sierra Leone, Gambia, and Guinea; divestment of Skye Bank's shareholding in seven (7) of its domestic subsidiaries; the packaging and distribution of FGN SUKUK V and FGN SUKUK VI Bond Issuances which were largely over-subscribed by 22% and 435% respectively.
  • He started his finance career with the Advisory & Principal Investments division at Alternative Capital Partners Limited (ACAP), a boutique investment and wealth management firm which effected the first-ever SEC approved transfer of a management interest in a mutual fund (Oceanic Vintage).
  • Olayinka holds a degree in Finance from the University of Lagos. He is also an Associate Member, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a Level III Candidate in the CFA Program.
